A note about Lizz and Bill

Mojo’s Sauce is owned and operated by Bill Etter and Lizz King-Etter, both of whom have over 30 years of experience working in the culinary world.

Both Bill and Lizz attended New England Culinary Institute, Bill receiving a degree in Culinary Arts and Lizz going on to complete a Culinary Management Degree.

After school we both traveled around the globe, working in places such as Bayona in New Orleans, the Four Seasons Resort at Maui Wailea, the Wauwinet in Nantucket, and a variety of places in Jackson Hole Wyoming, including Chippy's Kitchen (AKA: Jackson Hole Catering).

Before coming to Ithaca, Bill owned a Café on St John in the US Virgin Islands where he first thought of creating a retail line of hot sauces. (In fact, if you click on the link the main page shows a picture of the beach that his restaurant was on)

After settling in the Ithaca area in 2015 (in Newark Valley) we both worked in a few local eateries, where we saw an opportunity for a local, flavor-forward hot sauce. We  began to form relationships with local farmers and small business owners. We realized what an amazing place the Finger Lakes Region is for growing a wide variety of produce and wanted to share these flavors with the world!

In the Fall of 2019, we launched our first two sauces: Spooky Pumpkin and Smokin' Hot Heirloom, and by the Spring of 2020 had our full line developed. 2021 brought us to Ithaca Farmers Market, and now in 2023 we have purchased our first small production facility!

Stay tuned for more info about employment opportunities this summer!

We look forward to continuing to be a part of this thriving food community for years to come!
